July 10, 2008.- The Colombian TV network, RCN launched a news service in English. This service consists on two daily webcast, where his host, Brian Andrews, an experience American journalist, gives the top headlines on Colombia current affairs in a very dynamic and friendly way to show the world what's really happening in this South America country.
One of its purposes of this news service is to change the perception of how the world sees Colombia, through the eyes of a recognized foreigner journalist.
Brian Andrews, has worked in several U.S and international media, such as CBS, CNN Radio, CNN-TV (Newsroom program), The Miami Herald, WFOR-TV Miami/CBS4, WSVN-TV Miami/7News, Caracol TV-Colombia and he is a freelance correspondent in Colombia for Al-Jazeera English.
The Society of Professional Journalists has recognized him for his foreign reporting, and by several South Florida federal and local law enforcement agencies for his local reporting and special series. He became an anchor Emmy-nominated for "CNN Newsroom", program.
The webcast was first launched on July 3, 2008 at http://canalrcn.com/newsinenglish/ and its having a good acceptance by the viewers, just the Tuesday PM edition was viewed more then 7,000 people from around the world.
